NEW YORK — Preparing for storms is not just the responsibility of emergency workers.

Everyone should have their own plan of action for their families.

Interim CEO of the American Red Cross in Greater New York Susan Rounds gave some advice and tips on how we should be prepared for large storms, including Tropical Storm Isaias, and other disasters.

According to Rounds, families should have a bag prepared and filled with water, flashlights, chargers, batteries, medication and cash.

A change of clothing is also advised in case of an evacuation.

People should also have those emergency supplies on hand at home.
