Stifling heat to end with showers and storms
The searing heat continued for the second day in a row as temperatures topped out in the lower 90s. Adding in the humidity, it felt more like the mid to upper 90s during the day.
Temperatures are expected to reach the 90s for the third day in a row, making the heat wave official for New York City. Causing the heat to end is a slow-moving frontal boundary that will bring the threat of showers and thunderstorms.
