The 2022 season has been a special one for Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts. In just his third year in the NFL and his second as the team’s full-time starter, the 24-year-old has racked up a number of individual accolades and put Philadelphia on the cusp of another Super Bowl title.
Given that this year’s campaign has stood out for Hurts, it’s worth wondering what he thinks has been the best moment of the season. A reporter did exactly that, asking the quarterback what he believed was his best play of the year during a press conference on Thursday.
Though the Eagles star may not have answered in the way that anyone expected, his response perfectly summed up his mentality with the Super Bowl looming.
“Season’s not over,” Hurts said with a smirk.
Had Hurts wanted to pick out his favorite highlight reel moment of the 2022 season, he surely could have found one. The former second-round pick threw for 3,701 yards and rushed for 760 more yards, while scoring 35 total touchdowns in 15 games this season, which put him among the finalists for the league’s MVP award. He also notched the first Pro Bowl selection of his career and was named to the All-Pro second-team.

Even more importantly, Hurts went 14–1 as a starter this year, powering Philadelphia to the No. 1 seed in the NFC. The Eagles have comfortably dismantled the Giants and a short-handed 49ers team on the way to the Super Bowl where they’ll now face their toughest test of the year: the AFC’s top-seeded Chiefs.
If there was ever a time for Hurts to make his best play of the season it would be in Glendale next Sunday when the Eagles square off with the Chiefs for a chance to lift the Lombardi Trophy.
