Mount Saint Mary College students will be welcomed back on campus this Fall.— As some students struggle with the thought of what campuses will look like in the fall, one New York college is opening its arms to help ease fears and creating innovative ways to highlight what makes their campus, Mount Saint Mary College, the place to spend your next four years.
It’s breathtaking. It’s not your next vacation destination, this is the campus of Mount Saint Mary College, nestled in Newburgh, New York on the Hudson River.
The Dean of Admissions, Susana Briscoe-Alba says it is the view and so much more that attracts students to the campus. “A few of the things is the connections the students have with the staff and the community they build, you’re valued here you’re not one out of a billion.”
That’s because there’s only about 25-hundred students on campus, each really getting to know their professors.
And the admissions staff is trying to make those special connections right now with potential students by thinking outside the box during this pandemic. “We’re offering tours of campus in a drive thru fashion.”
The other goal is to help each family through the process of the application and finances.
Besides the personal connections, one of the core values of the college is to serve others. “We had some nurses finish early to serve our community in the middle of the pandemic.”
Mount Saint Mary College is known for its nursing program. Shannon Christiano, who just graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing say the program is top notch. “We do have an amazing rigorous program with simulation labs that are unrivaled.”
And that hands-on work experience really helps too, 95 percent of graduates are employed within six months of graduation.
Mount Saint Mary College does have rolling admissions, so you can still apply through the summer!
