NEW YORK (WPIX) – A zombie video is getting millions of views on the internet and it has the attention of authorities in New York City.

The promo features actors dressed as zombies reaching for people passing by. The MTA and NYPD are concerned because it appears the video producers opened up a sidewalk grate in Union Square.

“We are deeply troubled by this video,” said an MTA spokesperson. “We have forwarded it to the NYPD and are also conducting our own investigation.”

City agencies say permission was not granted or the shoot. Permits are required for commercial shoots with actors that use public space.

The company that produced it did not respond to questions. The website featured several case studies that highlight the renegade tactics.
