WASHINGTON — A Maryland woman was arrested after allegedly stealing french fries from a Washington D.C. police officer.

The Washington Post reports on Sept. 7, the officer was eating in a restaurant on U Street around 9:40 p.m. According to The Post, the woman, 26, allegedly approached the officer and ate one of his french fries.

The woman was warned multiple times to stop but continued eating the fries, a D.C. police spokesman said.

She was arrested for second-degree theft.

A police report listed the stolen property as “French Fried Potato … quantity 3,” according to the Washington Post.

An investigation into the incident is ongoing at this time.
