NEW YORK (PIX11) — Some of us count calories and for the most part– we do a pretty good job of it. However, when the weekend rolls by, we all of a sudden forget how to do math.
Research shows that most of us drop the ball when it comes to eating healthy on our days of and the calorie intake is astronomical – 10,000 calories to be exact.
According to the study, the biggest factor behind the calorie surge is round-the-clock snacking. With an Oreo here, some pizza there — it all adds up.
Here’s some food for thought: if you plan on hitting the Feast of San Gennaro this weekend, an average-sized cannoli packs 400 calories.
Alcohol – which typically increases on the weekend for the obvious reasons – attributes to a bulk of your calorie intake.
Drink this up: a glass of wine or beer packs approximately 150 calories, while a single mixed drink holds a little bit over 300. A few of those on a night-out will have you flirting with about 1000 calories.
