NEW YORK (PIX11) – Police are hunting for an Islanders fan they say swiped a glove from the teach bench after a recent playoff victory.

A photo of the alleged equipment thief shows him standing in a parking lot holding a beer in his gloved hand.

The man somehow managed to lift the glove from the team bench at some point during the April 25 game against the Capitals, according to police.  The Islanders beat the Capitals 3-1 in the last game the team will play at the Nassau Coliseum before moving to Barclays.

It’s not clear who the glove belonged to. Calls to the Islanders have not been returned.

Anyone with information is urged to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at (800) 244-TIPS.
