A powerful storm system in the Midwest is slowly heading in our direction. Rain will develop Tuesday evening and continue heavy at times into Wednesday morning.

One to two inches of rainfall is possible.  Snow and ice are possible in the higher terrain of northwest New Jersey and in the Hudson Valley.

A light accumulation is expected with higher amounts in the higher elevations.   Coastal flooding may also be an issue. Winds will increase from the east between 20-30 mph Tuesday night and  gust upwards of 50 mph by Wednesday morning.
