QUEENS — The 5 Browns are piano prodigies famous for their incredible talent and their collections of firsts.
They were the first family of five siblings to ever be admitted to train at the Julliard School all at the same time.
Their first album reached number one on billboard’s classical albums chart.
Now the 5 Browns have released their first Christmas album, just in time for the holidays.
After nearly 15 years in the spotlight, The 5 Browns are giving fans the Christmas album they’ve been asking for.
“Our album is called ‘Christmas with the 5 Browns’ because we’re The 5 Browns and we love Christmas.
The family of musical prodigies consisting of Ryan, Desirae, Melody, Gregory and Deondra, put together a collection of classics and personal favorites.
Their first video from the holiday album, “Sleigh Ride.”
The 5 Browns were born in Houston, raised in Utah, and all attended Julliard at the same time in New York.
We spoke to them at the exclusive vault showroom at the Steinway factory in Queens, where they explained how special Christmas time is for this tight-knit family.
“Even if everybody’s not here, we’ll facetime people in and we`ll do a wonderful meal, we exchange gifts and kind of just hang out together.”
Playing piano together has always been their lifelong passion and they’re happy to finally mix their musical talents with a holiday season that means so much to all of them.
“I think there’s something really special about music at Christmas time and the five of us we play classical music, and so much of the holiday cannon comes from the classical tradition. We hope people enjoy it as much as we do.”
