MIDWOOD, Brooklyn — Shots were fired near Brooklyn College Tuesday afternoon, a law enforcement source said.

The shooting happened at 2705 Campus Road, near the Brooklyn College student center and not far from the college’s library. P.S. 315 and Midwood High School are also nearby.

A source said preliminary information suggests it all started with an attempted robbery near Flatbush and Nostrand avenues. The would-be thief was carrying a fake gun, the source said.

The victim then gathered his friends and confronted the would-be robber. One of those friends was carrying a gun and fired at the attempted robber, the source said.

No injuries have been reported, the source said. Two individuals are in custody.
