NEW YORK (PIX11) – It has now been 11 days.
And there is still no sign of Avonte Oquendo, the 14-year-old boy with autism who has been missing from Long Island City.
There is now a $70,000 dollars reward for anyone who can bring him home safely.
The NYPD has 100 officers out looking for him.
And the MTA is running ads at subway stations – asking riders to keep an eye out.
He was last seen on security cameras running away from his school.
He should have had an aide at all times.
And it reportedly took the school almost an hour to report Avonte missing.
Tuesday night, PIX11 tried to get an answer from the chancellor of New York City schools as to why Oquendo was able to run out of school in the middle of the day.
