NEW YORK CITY — Since elementary and special needs schools opened, there have been hundreds of schools closed on any given day in New York City because of positive COVID-19 cases.
However, testing has shown schools are relatively safe and the spread in schools is extremely low. A group of parents wrote an open letter to Mayor Bill de Blasio asking him to change the protocols that shut schools down.
