AUSTRALIA (PIX11) — Doritos fans are in for a treat.
Pizza Hut Australia unveiled its new Doritos covered stuffed-crust pizza. The Doritos Crunchy Crust is the result of months of development, the company said in a press release.
The new pizza is made with mozzarella cheese inside the crust, layered with original Doritos crunchy corn chips and sprinkled with cheddar cheese around the edge for the “crunchiest crust you have ever experienced.”
“As you bite into the crust you’ll be blown away by the crunch — it’s not only seriously loud, but delicious,” Fatima Syed, head of marketing and innovation at Pizza Hut Australia said.
“Why Doritos? Well it is a globally loved brand and they have the best corn chips to deliver the ultimate crunch. This exciting and undeniably fun new crust will wow all your senses, not just your taste buds. We know from research how big an impact the crunch sound has on one’s appetite. This is an all taste, no waste pizza,” Syed said.
This isn’t the first fast-food chain to use Doritos in new menu items. In March 2012, Taco Bell introduced their Doritos Locos Tacos, which features a shell made out of Nacho Cheese Doritos chips on the outside.
