One injured after gas explosion partially collapses Queens home

QUEENS (PIX11) — One person is hurt and a Queens home partially-destroyed after an explosion on Thanksgiving, according to the FDNY.

The blast, fueled by a gas leak, destroyed the setback attached to the rear of the home, located at 107-55 108th Street off Rockaway Blvd in Ozone Park.

The victim was taken to Cornell to be treated for burns.  He is in serious but stable condition.

The National Grid was called to the scene by the FDNY.

A spokesperson for the National Grid tells PIX11 that gas has been turned off at the home.

The cause of the blast is still under investigation.
