NYC road work includes painting over some potholes

There are 6,000 miles of roads in New York City.

The NYC Department of Transportation reports that as of the end of May, crews repaired 341,442 in the winter maintenance season.

It’s a giant job and sometimes it’s not an exact science.

Neighbors in Queens are drawing attention to some recent work along Forest Part Drive. Portions were resurfaced and some potholes were filled. Others appear to have been painted over.

Follow along with the city’s Daily Pothole report. NYC Dot Commissioner Polly Trottenberg reported to city council that more miles of roads are being resurfaced in the next budget cycles.
