MIDTOWN — A driver in Midtown lost control Monday afternoon, jumping a curb and plowing into multiple pedestrians before hitting a light pole.
Three people were rushed to Bellevue hospital with serious injuries, one other person to New York Hospital with minor injuries, according to the FDNY. It’s not clear if the driver was injured in the crash.
The incident happened around 59th Street and 5th Avenue at the southeast corner of Central Park, near Apple’s flagship store and The Plaza Hotel.
Emergency operators first received a call reporting that a car had crashed into a pole just before 3 p.m.
It’s unclear how the driver lost control of the car. A police investigation is ongoing.
