NEW JERSEY (PIX11) — A community in New Jersey came together after 16-year-old Xavier McClain died following a traumatic brain injury he suffered during a football game this month.

His family asked for more transparency on what went wrong. Some people have also raised concerns over safety on the football field.

Dr. Jason Krystofiak, a sports medicine physician from RWJ Barnabas Health, joined PIX11 Morning News on Tuesday to weigh in on the incident. Watch the video player above for the full interview.
