NEW YORK (PIX11) – City schools open in just nine days and there’s already concern over crossing guards. The NYPD has cut almost 500 crossing guard positions, which it said were vacant.
City Councilmember Shaun Abreu, whose district stretches from the Upper West Side through west Harlem and Washington Heights, talks about the reduction in crossing guards.
