NYC’s first lady Chirlane McCray discusses mental health, ThriveNYC

NEW YORK — One in five New Yorkers struggle with mental health issues. The mayor’s ThriveNYC initiative has more than 30 programs offering services to those who need it.

First Lady Chirlane McCray spearheaded the the program and just recently launched a podcast focused on mental health and wellness.

McCray discusses her new podcast, which is recorded in Brooklyn, and what ThriveNYC has been able to offer despite coming under fire for lack of data to back up its budget.

She also discusses whether or not she’s looking into making a run for Brooklyn borough president.
