NEW YORK (PIX11) — New York City public school students are calling for more counselors instead of police officers from the Department of Education, despite the increased violence near schools.
Several dozen New York City students testified before the City Council’s Education Commission, sharing their experiences with school safety agents last week.
Chancellor David Banks joined PIX11 Morning News to discuss what is being done to improve school safety in New York City.
