NEW YORK (PIX11) – Starting Thursday, 744 elementary schools across New York City will start locking their front doors after students are inside and visitors will be screened through a new camera system.
That’s only the first phase of the new safety measures implemented by the DOE in collaboration with the NYPD. The head of the NYPD’s school safety division, Inspector Kevin Taylor, talks about the upgrades.
