NEW YORK (PIX11) — There’s a new idea buzzing in the New York State Senate to help fund the MTA with neighborhood parking permits.

New York City residents would have to pay to get their cars registered for on-street parking spots where they live.

Queens city councilmember Lynn Schulman is contemplating a test project in her district. Schulman joined PIX11 News to talk more about the initiative. Watch the video player for more.
