NEW YORK (PIX11) – An upcoming hearing in three weeks will determine if the Rikers Island jail complex will be placed under federal control.
The conditions inside the complex have become more evident following a report regarding a recent inspection. Lauren Stephens Davidowitz, an attorney with the Legal Aid Society’s prisoners’ rights project, talks about the report.
