An estimated 1.7 million people will flood Fifth Avenue this weekend.

Rainbow flags will fly up and down Fifth as lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender participate celebrate their gay pride.

Jean Malpas, director of the Gender and Family Project at the Ackerman Institute in New York, and 19-year-old Lucas Mogerley who identifies as a transgender man talk about issues affecting transgender community and some startling statistics.

This Sunday’s parade kicks off at noon. It starts at 5th Avenue and 36th Street and runs all the way down to Greenwich and Christopher Streets in the Village.
