LITTLE NECK, Queens — A man is dead after was struck and killed by a car after getting into an argument with his girlfriend on the Grand Central Parkway in Queens early Saturday.

Police said Arif Hoosein, 30, was a passenger in a Mercedes Sedan driven by his girlfriend, 34-year-old Savittrie Beria-Lackhan. The two began to argue and police said Hoosein exited the vehicle on the parkway near Commonwealth Boulevard around 3:45 a.m. He was then struck by a Nissan Sentra.

He was rushed to nearby hospital but succumbed to severe injuries to his head and body.

“The family is in deep shock,” Hoosein’s uncle Mahmoud said. His nephew would have turned 31 this coming Tuesday. But instead of planning for a birthday celebration, his family is making funeral arrangements.

The driver of the Nissan, 39, remained on scene has not been charged.

Beria-Lackhan was taken into police custody and faces DWI charges.
