RICHMOND, Va. (PIX11) — Some people handle rejection really badly.

A Virginia man is behind bars, accused of stealing the dentures out of a woman’s mouth after she refused his romantic advances.

WTVR in Richmond reports that Linwood Harris, 63, bought the unidentified woman dentures to woo her after she lost her teeth in a car accident.

“I hadn’t been able to afford dentures,” she told WTVR. “He says to me, ‘you’re a pretty girl but I can see you’re self-conscious about your teeth.’”

The woman told the station that she thought of the man as a friend, not a lover, and made that clear, but Harris’ advances soon became overbearing.

On Tuesday, the woman said Harris was waiting outside her apartment.

It is unclear what charges Harris is facing.

The scorned man allegedly grabbed the woman by the neck from behind, and dragged the dentures out of her mouth.

Harris — and the dentures — were found shortly after and the teeth were returned to the woman.

It is unclear what charges Harris, who was previously convicted of assault in 1992, will be facing.
