BRONX (PIX11) – A man is in critical condition Thursday night after a hit-and-run near Story Avenue in the Bronx, and the alleged driver is in custody.

It all happened in broad daylight — according to police, the driver, a 72-year-old-man, hit a pedestrian near Story Avenue in the Bronx then continued driving.

Authorities said he sideswiped a car then stopped about 200 feet away.

According to police, the victim is a 60-year-old-man.

“The man went up pretty high and came down,” said Perez.

A witness who knows the driver and that he would never do anything to hurt anyone.

Soundview residents say an accident was bound to happen here.

Police said the driver will at least be charged with leaving the scene of an accident.
