MANHATTAN — A 60-year-old man was slashed by a fellow subway rider after the pair bumped into each other during the Friday morning commute, police said.
It happened about 8:30 a.m. on a train riding along the northbound NQR line, police said.
As the victim was boarding the train at Times Square, he bumped into the would-be slasher, who was blocking the doorway, police said.
The pair began to argue then the culprit pulled out what the victim described as “a small knife” and slashed the victim across the left side of his face and left thumb, police said.
The attacker ran from the train at the 57th Street and Seventh Avenue station. He’s described as an Indian male in his late 40s, police said.
The victim exited the train at the following stop and called 911. He was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
It’s the latest in a string of slashings in the city — both above and underground.
