ORANGE COUNTY, N.Y. — Power was restored overnight after a massive power outage in Orange County left up to 52,000 people without electricity Saturday evening.

The power outage was caused by equipment failure at the Middletown Substation around 7:30 p.m., electric company Orange & Rockland confirmed.

People in western Orange County, parts of Sullivan and Pike counties were affected.
