NEW YORK (PIX11) — A winter storm made its way across the tri-state area Monday night, leaving behind the first measurable snowfall of the season for many locations.

The five boroughs, as well as Hudson, Union, Middlesex, Hunterdon and Somerset counties in New Jersey saw 1 to 3 inches. Warren County, New Jersey, saw 2 to 4 inches.

Essex, Bergen, Morris, Passaic and Sussex counties in New Jersey, along with most of Long Island, Westchester and Connecticut, received 3 to 6 inches.

The highest numbers were seen in Rockland, Putnam and Orange counties with totals between 6 and 9 inches.

Staten Island, as well as Mercer and Monmouth counties in New Jersey and points south, saw an inch or less.

Despite Central Park getting measurable snow, this winter is still on track to be the least-snowiest on record for New York City. We have received just 2.2 inches of snow all season, holding a slight lead over the current record of 2.8 inches set back in the winter of 1972-1973.

Look for any leftover raindrops and snowflakes to move out of the area Tuesday evening. Temperatures will primarily be in the 30s, although 20s are possible north and west of New York City. Skies will begin clearing out.

Expect another chance of showers Wednesday afternoon into Thursday morning. More snowflakes are possible on Friday.
