School safety agent arrested for possession of gun extender: police

EAST HARLEM, Manhattan — An off-duty NYPD school safety agent and her husband have been arrested for possession of a large capacity ammunition feeding device, according to police.

Sofia Ramirez, 39, was arrested and charged at 2 p.m. Thursday in East Harlem for owning a gun extender which allows her gun to fire off more rounds, authorities said. Ramirez is an NYPD School Safety Agent.

Ramirez’s husband, who was not identified, was also arrested after a search warrant was executed and guns and ammo were found in their home.
