Woman crossing busy Queens street fatally struck by bus

JAMAICA, Queens (PIX11) — Police are investigating the death of a woman who was fatally struck by a bus in Queens.

The accident happened Thursday around 9:30 p.m., at the intersection of 165th Street and Hillside Avenue.

When police arrived, they found the 42-year-old woman unconscious and unresponsive lying on Hillside Avenue.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators say a Nassau County NICE bus was making a turn when the woman was struck by the rear of the bus.

No arrests have been made at this time.

The victim’s identity has not been released pending family notification.
