ASTORIA, Queens — A woman was caught on video fighting off an armed robber at a Boost Mobile store in Astoria Friday.
A robber walked into the store at 25-38 Broadway with a silver hand gun around 7:40 p.m., police said. He told the 22-year-old employee not to scream and hand over the money in the register, but she didn’t give up easily. She began to scream and threw random objects at the robber.
The robber then walked around the counter and attempted to force the employee to open the cash register. She refused and continued to throw objects at him in an attempt to fight him off.
He eventually fled the store empty-handed.
The attempted robber is described as a man who was last seen wearing a long-sleeve purple shirt with “METRO PCS” writte on it, black shorts, sneakers and Yankees baseball cap with dark sunglasses.
