JAMAICA, Queens — A man was fatally struck by a car not far from his home in Queens Tuesday morning.

Police responded to a call of a pedestrian struck around 6:30 a.m., in front of 109-45 Centreville St., in the Jamaica section of the borough.

When police arrived, they found 70-year-old Jun Hiu Liu, with trauma to his head.

Liu was taken to Jamaica Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

An investigation revealed Liu was walking in the street when a 2005 Chevrolet Equinox struck him.

The driver remained on the scene.

There are no arrests and the investigation is ongoing.
