QUEENS, N.Y. (PIX11) — A plane was evacuated at JFK Airport on Christmas Eve after a laptop caught fire in the cabin, officials said.
A call came in around 9 p.m. reporting a fire on a JetBlue plane at Terminal 5. According to officials, 167 people were evacuated and five people were treated for injuries.
The flight crew reported a laptop caught fire in the cabin, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.
“Safety is always our number one priority, and we are investigating this incident in coordination with the FAA and NTSB,” a JetBlue spokesperson said.
