WOODSIDE, Queens –Police are investigating a car crash that left one man dead and another seriously injured in the Woodside section of Queens Sunday night.
The New York Police Department said officers responded to a call of a motor vehicle accident at Laurel Hill Boulevard and 48th Street about 10:30 p.m.
Upon arrival, police determined that a 2000 Honda Accord was traveling westbound on Laurel Hill Boulevard and lost control at the intersection of 48th Street, striking a cement stanchion and parked vehicle at the location.
The driver, 30-year-old Jorge Bermudez of Queens, was taken to Elmhurst General Hospital where he was later pronounced dead. His passenger, also 30 years old, was taken to the same hospital in critical condition.
The NYPD Collision Investigation is ongoing.
