NEW YORK — For the second consecutive Saturday, protests fighting for racial justice have forced the closure of sections of FDR Drive.

Citing “protest activity,” New York City’s Office of Emergency Management said that the FDR Drive is closed between East Houston Street and East 23rd Street in Manhattan. They’re telling drivers to take alternate routes.

One Saturday ago on May 30, all northbound lanes of the FDR Drive at Catherine Slip in Manhattan were closed. Dozens of protesters were seen flooding the FDR Drive that afternoon.
