NEW YORK — More than a quarter million people pass through the Port Authority Bus Terminal every day.

The facility has been the site of some recent reconfiguration and redesign. There are new bathrooms and lighting. Empty retail spaces are being marketed.

An art gallery moved in to a space on the second floor. Six Summit Gallery has also curated sculptures throughout the building.

The long term plan in the next 10 years, by 2030, is the replacement of the facility.

The next capital plan includes $3.5 billion for capital improvements. They’re still in the early stages of planning and design.
