NEW YORK (PIX11) — New York educators are launching a sweeping new plan to get school kids to read.
The shift comes in the wake of last year’s state reading exams. They showed less than half of third through eighth graders were proficient readers. The new program was rolled out on Tuesday by New York City’s School Chancellor, David Banks.
