Three-alarm fire damages Rutherford commercial building

RUTHERFORD (PIX11)– A three-alarm fire caused a partial wall collapse of a Rutherford commercial building Wednesday morning.

The blaze began around 4 a.m. at 17 Park Avenue.

Authorities believe the fire started in the basement of After Athens cafe. There was partial wall collapse on second floor.

Building was closed and there was no inside, according to Rutherford Chief Craig Scott.

There are no immediate reports of any injuries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
