SECAUCUS, N.J. – Authorities are investigating reports of fumes that prompted an evacuation of a Kohl’s in Secaucus, New Jersey late Sunday night.

Police say they received a call of a chemical smell in the air at Kohl’s located on 3 Mill Creek Drive about 9:04 p.m. after a few customers reported “difficulty breathing.”

Local fire, police and hazmat are on the scene attempting to determine the smell’s source.

The building has been evacuated as a precaution.

Kohl’s locations are open 24-hours a day until Christmas Day.
