New Jersey

NEWARK — Police officers and officials in Newark reached out to the community Thursday in an attempt to build relationships and trust between their department and the people they serve.

Thursday, the Newark Police Foundation kicked off its “Cops and Kids Community Policing Contest” aimed at addressing the need for more constructive engagement between the city’s youth and law enforcement.
