WAYNE, N.J. — A New Jersey man has been charged with sexually abusing a 10-year-old girl at a worship center.

Police arrested Charles Card, 30, of Sparta on Monday in connection to a sexual assault. Police say Card allegedly sexually assaulted a 10-year-old girl while she was attending Beth Israel Worship Center in Wayne.

A spokesperson for the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office said the alleged incidents occurred between Jan. 1, 2015 and August, 2015.

The victim then told her parents, who called police.

Card was charged with sexual assault and and endangering the welfare of a child.

A judge has set bail for $150,000 with no 10 percent option.

If convicted of both charges, Card faces up to 15 years behind bars.
