Cars in rental lot erupt into flames in Newark Airport

NEWARK – Cars were engulfed in flames at a car rental center in Newark Airport Wednesday night.

A fire broke out in one of the vehicles at the Avis Car Rental Center parking garage, and spread to neighboring cars.

A Port Authority officer attempted to control the fire before additional officers and the Newark Fire Department arrived to help put out the fire.

No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
