OLD BRIDGE, NJ — Update: Officials confirmed Monday the body does in fact belong to missing woman Stephanie Parze.
A body was found in a wooded section of Old Bridge on Sunday afternoon, officials said.
Officers responded to the wooded area off Route 9, just south of Old Mill Road, around 2:45 p.m., police said.
The remains have not yet been identified. The Middlesex Regional Medical Examiner’s Office is scheduled to perform an autopsy on Monday morning.
Some believe it’s possible the body found could belong to Stephanie Parze, a 25-year-old missing Freehold woman who vanished nearly three months ago on Halloween eve.
Parze’s family seemed to refute these theories with a Facebook post late Sunday from Parze’s sister that simply reads, “Nothing has been confirmed.”
The investigation is active and is continuing. Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Addie Spinola, of the Old Bridge Police Department at (732) 721-5600, or Detective Sean Sullivan of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office, at (732) 745-4060.
