2 teens dead, 1 critical after car hits pedestrians near Union City High School

NORTH BERGEN, N.J. — Two teens are dead and another is in critical condition after they were struck by a car in North Bergen Saturday night, officials say.

It happened overnight at the intersection of John F. Kennedy Boulevard and 26th Street near Union City High School.

Family and friends tell PIX11’s Ellyn Marks the victims, 16-year-old Noel Herera attended Cliffside Park Middle, and 17-year-old Brian Rodriguez attended Union City High School.

Hudson County officials say one person has been charged in the accident. But that person’s name and further details on the charges they are facing were not released.
