PATERSON, N.J. — A man is dead and a second is injured after a shooting in Pateron Wednesday, police and prosecutors confirmed.

The shooting took place at around 5:38 p.m., when police responded to an area on Hospital Plaza upon report of shots fired. Authorities found two 20-year-old men, Brian Olivio and David Torres, both suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

Both men were transported to a local hospital. Olivio was later pronounced dead. Torres is said to be in stable condition.

No arrests have been made. An investigation is ongoing.
