LOWER MANHATTAN — When a 13-month-old with a congenital heart defect from Long Island fell into distress last week, two young NYPD officers went into action.

Officers Lauren Creighton and Michael Ippolitio helped Ayden regain consciousness after his family was forced to pull over on the Cross Island Parkway.

A week later, Ayden is said to be in good spirits and expected to return home in the coming days.
