Police searching for suspect wanted for sex assault in Central Park

CENTRAL PARK, Manhattan — Police are looking for a man who allegedly sexually assaulted a woman he had met earlier in Central Park.

Police say that the victim, 22, was inside Central Park, near 68th Street and West Drive, at 6:30 p.m. Thursday when she was sexually abused by the suspect. Officials say the victim was visiting New York from out of town.

The victim had befriended the suspect earlier, according to police.

The suspect fled the scene. He was last seen on NYPD surveillance video wearing a black and white baseball cap, black backpack, red tank top, grey shorts and white shoes.
